Advantage Brand HP CF214X Toner Cartridge for HP M700 Series

We’ve just released an Advantage Brand (Remanufactured) CF214X toner cartridge for the HP LaserJet 700 series. This includes the HP LaserJet 700 M712, M712n, M712dn and M712xh laser printers. The Advantage Brand CF214X is rated for 17,500 prints at 5% coverage, the same as it’s Genuine HP counterpart. Our CF214X toner cartridges is designed to deliver the same print quality as a Genuine HP CF214X. At $120 vs. $210 for a new cartridge, the Advantage Brand cartridge offers an excellent value with a 42% savings. We also offer the HP CF214A standard yield toner cartridge – but with it’s higher cost  per page, there is really no reason to buy low yield toner cartridge.

HP CF325X MICR Toner for HP M806dn, M806x, M830z in R & D

HP LaserJet M806dn Laser Printer

HP LaserJet M806dn Laser Printer

HP has finally released a replacement for the HP LaserJet 9000, 9050 series printers, the HP M800 Series. The M800 series uses an HP CF325X toner cartridge. The CF325X is very similar to the C8543X (toner cartridge used in HP 9000, 9050) with a few tabs and notches that insures the new cartridge won’t fit in the older series of printer and vice versa. The CF325X is rated for 34,500 prints vs. 30,000 for the C8543X. Our goal is to have a CF325X MICR

HP LaserJet M806x

toner cartridge for M800 series by mid November. MICR toner for the HP 9000/9050 printer has been popular for high volume environments. In fact when you order our pre-printed checks for QuickBooks, Quicken, Peachtree or any number of othe accounting packages, we print these on an HP 9050 with a C8543X MICR Toner Cartridge. When HP first released the LaserJet 9000 it had it’s share of problems. But since the LaserJet 9050 came out, HP has addressed most of the reliability problems that plagued the HP 9000. We anticipate this to be a great production workhorse for high volume environments in check printing.

HP LasetJet Flow M830z

The new M800 series is basically the 9000 series with a facelift. HP  has added a touch screen, changed paper handling options, changed the color and cranked up the speed from 50ppm to 55ppm. There is no reason to upgrade your older 9000 to a M800 Series unless your 9000 series printer is on it’s last legs. HP has added NFC communication options as well so that you print wirelessly from your smart phone. Probably not a big selling point for such a high volume printer.

M800 Series New Models

  • M806dn – Base model with duplexing (2 sided printing) and networking standard. List price $3,399.
  • M806x – Take the base model and add a 3,500 sheet input tray and you have the M806x. One major difference between the 9000 series and the M800 series is the new input tray holds 3,500 sheets vs. 2,000. They’ve increased the capacity by creating two drawers that hold letter sized paper vs. one drawer that holds tabloid or 11×17 paper. List price $5,399.
  • Flow M830z – The M830z model isn’t just th M806x plus a 3000 sheet stacker/stapler. It also includes complete multifunction capabilities – print, copy, scan, fax. Plus they’ve added a larger touch screen. List price $8,499.

HP Smart Mobility Module – Great way to print wirelessly

Tuesday, September 17th, 2013 | HP Toner | No Comments

We at Advantage Laser Products, Inc. were invited to view some of HP’s “soon to be released” technologies last week. While much of the tech was covered under nondisclosure, here is one little device we are very excited about.
The HP 1200w Smart Mobility Module. hp wireless mobility module
This little box is a wireless print access point for all your mobile devices. It connects to any HP printer with a USB connection, and allows wireless printing from your mobile device. Either via wifi, or the new near-field communication technology. As an added bonus, it is 100% secure. The connection is encrypted, AND it never crosses your corporate network, since the communication happens directly between your smartphone and the access point. Allow your users and guests to print, without letting them on your network. We are begging HP to give us one of these to play with pre-release. Expect to see these in the wild late this year. Expected MSRP $69.99

New Lexmark Printers Released – 501h & 521h MICR Toner in R&D

Thursday, May 30th, 2013 | MICR Toner and Check Printing | 2 Comments
The Lexmark MS812DE with 7" touch screen and 70ppm is the perfect way to get your payroll check printed fast and in style!

The Lexmark MS812DE with 7″ touch screen and 70ppm is the perfect way to get your payroll check printed fast and in style!

Lexmark  just released quite a few new Monochrome (Black & White) printers. We’ve already started developing MICR toner for several of the new printers. The new printers are very fast ranging from 35ppm to 70ppm. We really haven’t seen many mainstream laser printers reach the 70ppm mark.

We plan to sell the Lexmark 501H MICR Toner Cartridge for the Lexmark MS310, MS410, MS510 and MS610 (5,000 page) as well as the Lexmark 521H MICR Toner Cartridge for the Lexmark MS810, MS811 and MS812 (20,000 page). When these are available you’ll be able to buy them from our Lexmark MICR Toner Cartridge section. The MS810 series appears to be a direct replacement for the Lexmark T650 series.

Here is a summary list of the new printers. The MX line of printers are MFP’s, while the MS lines are standard monochrome printers (no copy, fax, scan). At this print in time we have no plans to develop MICR toner for the Lexmark MX line of printers as our customers typically don’t print checks on MFP’s.

MX 810 / 811 / 812 – 55/63/70 ppm
MS 810 / 811 / 812 – 55/63/70 ppm (MICR Toner in R&D)
MX 710 / 711 -  63/70ppm
MX 610 / 611  – 50/50ppm
MX 510 / 511  - 45ppm
MS 510 / 610 – 45/50ppm (MICR Toner in R&D)
MS 310 / 410 – 35/40ppm (MICR Toner in R&D)
MX 310 / 410 – 35/40ppm
We plan to have the New Lexmark 521h MICR Toner Cartridge in July 2013. This will be a new cartridge, not remanufactured.

One major change to Lexmark’s new printer lineup is the use of both an toner and an imaging unit instead of an all in one cartridge. Previously Lexmark used a two cartridge system in their lower end printer such as the E260, E360, E460. Now their entire lineup uses a two cartridge system. The addition of an imaging unit is both good and bad. On the plus side you aren’t replacing your photoconductor drum and waste toner reservoir each time you run out of toner. On the minus side, troubleshooting gets much more complicated. If you have a print quality problem, you’ll have two cartridges to swap out to determine the culprit. For most people, the simplicity of a one cartridge system is the best way to go.

Not all printers are created equal…

The Lexmark 501h New MICR toner cartridge is currently in R&D and should be released July 2013.

The MX 310, 410, 510 and 610 series all share the same 501 series of  toner cartridges. That said, Lexmark has taken the dark path by not allowing the lower end models use the high yield toner cartridges. What this means is if you buy the MX310, you will only be able to use the 1,500 and 5,000 page toner cartridges. Both the 10,000 and 20,000 pages cartridges will not fit. If you buy the MX410, you will not be able to use the 501X 20,000 page toner cartridge. Both the MS510 and MS610 will allow you to use all cartridges in the 501 series. As you progress through the series, the printers get faster. If you are a volume printer, it always pays off to buy the printer that can use the high yield toner cartridges. All four series use the same 500Z imaging unit rated at 60,000 pages.
As with the lower line, the MX810 will not accommodate the 521X extra high yield toner cartridge, but the MS811 and MS812 will. All three models use the same Lexmark 520Z imaging unit rated at 100,000 pages.

Here is a list of the new Lexmark MS series printers. For a list of the new Lexmark MX MFP printers, visit Lexmark’s website.

MS310 Series MS510 Series MS810 Series
MS310D – 35ppm MS510DN – 45ppm MS810N – 55ppm
MS310DN – 35ppm MS810DN – 55ppm

You may be asking yourself, can I swap out MICR toner cartridges with standard toner cartridges when I do a check run. Yes you can. The MICR toner cartridges also includes a developer roller so the cartridges can be swapped. As a rule we don’t suggest doing this as we’ve had many a customer damage their cartridges by swapping them back and forth. The problem usually originates from the user doing a bad job packing away the cartridge that is not in use. The best way to insure the cartridge isn’t damaged is to place the cartridge back in the foil bag and then back in the original packaging, thus protecting it from light damage, dust and other environmental exposures. Note: toner cartridges from a two cartridge system are not susceptible to light damage as the photo-conductor drum is contained in the imaging unit.

Advantage Laser Products is now STMC Compliant

Sunday, May 5th, 2013 | Toner Cartridge Recycling | No Comments

We’ve always had a quality product and recently to help us improve our quality control we completed STMC training. STMC stands for Standardized Test Methods Committee.  The goal of STMC certification is to create a standard test method for testing toner cartridges that so that no matter who tests a toner cartridge you will consistently get the same results. Using STMC methodology allows us to test MICR Toner Cartridges , OEM Toner Cartridges and Remanufactured Toner Cartridges to make sure all of our toner cartridges meet or exceed OEM specifications consistently. STMC has adopted the best test methods from ASTM, ISO, ASTA and ANSI. ASTM testing concentrates on page yield, print density and back grounding.

Advantage Laser Products is now STMC Compliant.
